2008 Dance for Life - Harris Theater
six of Chicago’s top dance companies will unite as part of this year’s Dance for Life, the largest performance-based AIDS fundraising event in the Midwest. This highly anticipated event, currently in its 17th year, has raised over $3 million since 1992 and is held annually to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Howard Brown Health Center, Chicago Recovery Alliance, Night Ministry and the Dance for Life Fund.
Dance companies include: Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, The Joffrey Ballet, Thodos Dance Chicago, and River North Chicago Dance Company. And for the first time ever, two world premiere performances choreographed by Chicago’s own Harrison McEldowney and Randy Duncan.
